Interior Shutter Measuring
Our DIY interior shutters are available for square and rectangular windows only. For extra shape, bay window or specific design shutters please contact us, we offer free consultation and measure within the Bay of Plenty area.
Please get tape measure, a pencil and piece of paper or download our shutter measuring sheet here.
Let’s start with shutter measuirng, please follow the steps below:
STEP 1
Measure window height
1. Please measure inside window frame (timber reveal)
2. Take three measurements for the height, left, centre and right

3. Record the smallest measurement as your shutter height H
STEP 2
Measure window width
1. Please measure inside window frame (timber reveal)
2. Take three measurements for the width, top, middle and bottom

3. Record the smallest measurement as your shutter width W
STEP 3
Measure window frame depth
1. Please measure window frame (timber reveal) depth, if your window have an architrave please include this in your measure
2. Check if there are any obstacles such as mullions, locks, handles, winders, others, that could affect louvres operation
3. Clearance required depends on type of louvres:

If your window does not have enough clearance please contact us, we will find different possible soultions for you.
STEP 4
Check Window Reveal Type and finish
1. Please scroll through the provided drawings to determine your window reveal/architrave type
2. Please record your windows reveal/archittrave type, and if your window has an architrave please measure its width WA and depth DA

If none of the presented types appears on your window, eg. decorative archtiraves please contact us, we will find a solution for you.
