If you opt for painted timber shutters, you can choose between Paulownia and Basswood timber, both have high-quality paint, which will leave your shutters with an immaculate finish. This also provides superior hardness and flexibility to our shutters, an important feature for the weather we experience in New Zealand.

Our stained timber shutters are made from paulownia timber, which is known for its highest strength to weight ratio compared to any wood in the world. Although they are lightweight, they are not susceptible to damage when being made and fitted. Paulownia wood has a fine wood grain without any knots, and it offers a renewable source of timber that is long-lasting and durable. It is certainly one of our most sustainable wood options.
